LAUNDRY AID

SALARY : R104 073 per annum
CENTRE : Prince Albert Hospital

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum requirement: Basic numeracy and literacy. Experience: Appropriate ride in a linen financial institution in a hospital/health facility environment. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid Code B/EB driver’s license. Ability to work with laundry equipment and equipment. Willingness to work overtime, weekends and public vacations when operationally required. Willingness to be skilled and comfort personnel in different departments as the want arises (CSSD, Workshop, Housekeeping, Kitchen) etc. The incumbent have to be robust adequate to elevate heavy objects and be on their ft the whole day. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer Literacy will be an advantage. Ability to read, talk and speak (verbal and written) in two of the three respectable languages of the Western Cape. Experience in a laundry surroundings will be an introduced advantage.

DUTIES : Daily sorting, wash, dry, prepare, fold and iron of linen. Load/unload dirty or smooth linen. Empty dirty linen baggage for sorting and counting and the sealing and stacking of smooth linen luggage for dispatching. Assist with the mixing of chemical substances and the washing of linen. Do linen counts and data inside the laundry unit. Pushing heavy linen trolleys to and from the linen financial institution and wards/departments in the hospital. Follow and preserve universal hygiene and safety directives in the linen bank. Maintain protection measures for equipment and gear and record damaged equipment and equipment. Assist with the casual in-service coaching of new employees. Stock manipulate in the laundry unit as nicely as in the hospital.
