REQUIREMENTS : NQF Level three (Grade 11) / A National Certificate in Construction; plus A minimal of three years avenue work protection experience, plus A legitimate driver’s licence (Minimum Code B). Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required: Knowledge of preservation manuals, protection guidelines and the costing system. Knowledge of standard procedures. Knowledge of weekly work and plant returns. Knowledge of the carrier shipping programme. Knowledge of departmental reporting shape such as transportation committees. Knowledge of legislation/policies and approaches pertaining to Public Sector. Knowledge of disciplinary procedures. Knowledge of EPMDS. Planning and organisational skills. Ability to learn, apprehend and apply. Problem fixing skills. Supervisory skills. Communication skills. Numeracy skills. Computer literacy. The perfect candidate have to be responsible, punctual, conscientious and receptive to hints and ideas. He/she need to be environment friendly have empathy, cultural consciousness and additionally be capable to comply to code of behavior and to work as phase of a team.
DUTIES : Support avenue development and/or preservation work through, inter alia, the following: Construction of culvert and aspect drains. Erect and keep metal guardrails and gabions. Construction of street earth and layer works. Clean and preserve roads, sidewalks and resting areas (verge maintenance). Surfacing and pothole patching. Road fencing and pipe laying. Setting of rod markings/signs. Install roads symptoms and barricade the work area. Supervise activities in recognize of avenue building and/or upkeep work via inter alia the following: Application of security and precautionary measures. Conduct Inspections. Exercise manipulate over tools, materials and different equipment. Allocate duties and oversee work performance. Maintenance of equipment. Co-ordinate the blading program. Exercise manage over site visitors accommodation.
