SALARY : R386 487 per annum, (OSD)

REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate Trade Test Certificate in mechanical engineering. Ten (10) years post qualification trip required as an Artisan/Artisan Foreman. Valid driver’s license (attach copy). Supervisory, planning and analytical skills. Project administration and technical document writing skills. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and protection administration systems. Knowledge of PMDS and PFMA. Ability to work independently as nicely as in a team. Computer literacy. Good conversation competencies and capacity to work lengthy hours and operate nicely below pressure. Technical evaluation and trouble fixing skills. Willingness to travel. Candidates can also be required to whole a sensible and theoretical test. Knowledge and journey on preservation of mechanical tools at dams and preservation of yellow fleet and vehicles would be an advantage.

DUTIES : Maintenance of bulk uncooked water infrastructure (dams, reservoirs, pump stations and pipelines) and machinery. Condition monitoring of gear and interpretation of statistics and reports. Manage upkeep backlogs, deliberate protection and breakdowns. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and PFMA. Provide inputs into present technical manuals, preferred drawings and methods to comprise new technology. Ensure quality assurance in line with specifications. Provide inputs into budgeting technique bring together and put up reviews as required. Manage and supervise artisans and associated personnel. Control and screen expenditure in accordance to price range to make sure environment friendly money float management. Manage subordinates’ key overall performance areas by means of placing and monitoring overall performance requirements and taking movements to right deviations to gain departmental objectives. Do mechanical dam protection inspections and entire log books. Submit meter readings of hour meters of tools to Transport Officer monthly.
